Protective Road Barrier Reflector Produced from BASF Styrene-based Specialty Plastic

The Polish company Wital has recently started using the styrene-based specialty plastic Luran® S 778T from the BASF range for protective road barrier reflectors.

The mountings of these protective road barrier reflectors are made of Luran® S

In doing so it has been able to replace the steel previously used for the mountings by a steel-gray colored variant of this acrylate-styrene-acrylonitrile polymer (ASA). Regardless of the design of the individual components the reflectors, which are already in use in Poland, are produced in one process step by injection molding.

The plastic is not only impact resistant, strong and lightweight, but above all is also weather resistant so that even in the worst of weather conditions the surface retains its high-quality appearance. Luran S is already used in road traffic for traffic light units.
