Timken Form JV with Sanyo Special Steel and Showa Seiko

The Timken Company have recently formed a joint venture with Japanese companies Sanyo Special Steel and Showa Seiko. Together they will manufacture forged and machined rings for bearing manufacture. The joint venture is expected to be operating by the third quarter of 2002.

The joint venture will trade as Advanced Green Components LLC. They will assume the assets of Timken’s Winchester Kentucky plant and will benefit from an injection of technology and equipment. The plant which employs 50 people will also be equipped for increased production capacity.

Capital investments will see the facility acquire some of the most advanced forging and machining equipment enabling them to maintain their status as a leading supplier in their field.
