Beck Aluminum, a 55 year old Cleveland based aluminium manufacturer, recycler, and distributor announced today it has reached a multi-part agreement that includes a near doubling of sales volumes with Citation Corporation, a Birmingham headquartered major US manufacturer for automotive and heavy truck parts. Last Saturday, Citation filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in US Bankruptcy Court in Alabama.
In making the announcement, Scott Beck, President of Beck Aluminum, said, "We have a long standing relationship with Citation's Butler, Indiana; and Bay Minette, Alabama manufacturing plants. They are strong manufacturers with excellent facilities, good customers, and able management teams. We have close relationships and contact with the corporate management group in Birmingham, and have taken this initiative to strengthen our overall business capability with them, and increase supply alternatives to their other aluminum facilities. We are pleased with the opportunity, and trust this reorganization will help them shore up the iron and steel side of their business.
Beck Aluminum operates manufacturing facilities in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Beck Aluminum Alloys. Beck Aluminum is the largest distributor of primary foundry ingot in the US, with both domestic and import foundry ingot and T-Bar channels into automotive, heavy truck, and aerospace markets.
