Goodrich has developed FASTprop™, an innovative electrothermal de-icing system for aircraft propellers. The patented system used pressure sensitive adhesives and is simple to install.
The installation is easy and requires minimal labour. It only requires the application of a single coat of adhesive primer. After 5 minutes, the FASTprop de-icer is applied by “peel and stick”. The adhesive cures in about an hour compared to 12-24 for more conventional cements.
Another advantage of the system is the fact that the adhesives used are more environmentally friendly compared to more conventional adhesive/solvent systems.
The FASTprop de-icers are suited to most propeller driven regional business aircraft and can be easily interchanged with other similar products.
