Fonderie Saguenay has successfully undergone an accreditation process to become a member of Lloyd's Register List of Approved Manufacturer. Fonderie Saguenay can now produce castings in Spheroidal Graphite Iron (ductile iron) up to 12,280 lbs (5.57 metric tonnes) in accordance with the requirements of the prestigious risk management and safety assurance organisation.
With this certification, Fonderie Saguenay becomes the approved supplier for the heaviest ductile iron castings in Canada.
According to Marc Savard, president of Fonderie Saguenay: "This new accreditation is important to us because it demonstrates our commitment to quality. It is a statement and a way to reassure those who do not already know our foundry; we offer quality and consistency to the highest international standards"
The mission of The Lloyd's Register Group is to enhance the safety of individuals and property by upholding high technical standards in many industries. It offers independent third-party approval to attest the conformity of products with industry specific standards. This certification is mandatory for most castings in the Naval Industry.
Fonderie Saguenay has been a certified ISO 9001:2008 foundry since 2008 and was a CSA Z-299.3 for almost 20 years before that.
