Solar Gard Introduces Adhesive-Free Backsheet for Photovoltaic Modules

Solar Gard, which develops and produces backsheet materials and flexible films, has announced the addition of PV FC10f to its suite of superior-quality solutions for use in photovoltaic modules.

The new photovoltaic backsheet is an expensive photovoltaic solution that offers enhanced protection and longevity for solar modules. The adhesive-free backsheet demonstrates benchmark performance for barrier properties and electrical isolation required by top quality module manufacturers. Moreover, the bright white backsheet is intended to provide enhanced reflection for superior module efficiencies.

Solar Gard PV FC10f integrates a proprietary durable protective layer to achieve these high-performance levels and superior environmental protection. The unique mar and scratch resistant layer offers remarkable long-term durability and is suitable to provide better adhesion to the junction box. PV FC10f also features a functional coating that provides better adhesion to ethylene vinyl acetate.

PV FC10f is UL certified, tested for performance at TUV, and surpasses the criteria of third party testing. It is offered in flexible roll form to fit into a variety of panel configurations and sizes. It is produced in the US and China.

Solar Gard’s President, Christophe Fremont stated that the demand for superior quality, durable and low-cost solutions like PV FC10f is ever-increasing because the photovoltaic market continues to grow across the world. The company is proud to consistently provide novel high-performance solutions to its customers in order to help them achieve success in the market.

Solar Gard is a unit of Saint-Gobain’s subsidiary, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, and is a manufacturer of custom and photovoltaics coating and automotive and architectural window films.
