SBS-6000 Battery Analyzer from SBS

The SBS-6000 battery analyzer available from Storage Battery Systems (SBS) is a rugged handheld storage battery tester which serves as a complete voltage and resistance testing kit for batteries ranging from 1.2 to 48 Vdc. The analyzer relays test data via RJ45 or RS232 ports and complies with all IEEE/NERC standards.

The battery analyzer is used in various applications such as utility, telecommunications, industrial maintenance, battery manufacturing, UPS, data center and critical power. It includes a number of features such as a 3.5" LCD color backlit display and a menu, which is user-friendly and easy to navigate. It can test batteries flooded with lead-acid, Ni-Cad and VRLA. Voltage testing range is between 0 and 60 V for batteries ranging from 1.2 to 48 Vdc.

The SBS-6000 has a large data storage capacity and can store over 100,000 records. It calculates and stores data via contact probes provided on the battery posts. The SBS-6000 meets NERC and IEEE maintenance standards for stationary battery systems. It is integrated with a rechargeable Li-ion battery to provide more than 5 hours of operation time. In addition, a software package is provided for storing and analyzing results and for generating reports. The battery analyzer weighs 2.2 lbs and measures 4.25"x1.97”x7.5” in width, depth and height, respectively.

The testing kit supports communications via RJ45 or RS232 ports and can store approximately 10,000 groups of battery parameters. It automatically switches within 1 mΩ to 400 mΩ test range with resistance measurement resolution reaching 1 mΩ. Resistance can test each connection within 5 seconds and test results are equated to user-defined alarm setpoint values. It creates and displays the single cell test report as well as the comparison data of the battery string, and provides on-screen pass / warning / fail indication during testing.

The SBS-6000 battery analyzer comes with several accessories such as Battery Manager 6000 software, clamp probe set, 4 point pin probe set, Li-Ion battery and charger, RS232 and RJ45 cables, heavy duty carrying case and instruction manual.

The Battery Manager 6000 software is capable of analyzing the function and efficiency of batteries and includes an interface for loading alarm and string data to and from the tester. The software has individual data archives for battery, cell and intercell connector resistance records and can be directly converted into Excel format to promote convenient integration within custom reports. It interprets data for clear and succinct comparisons.
