Perhaps nowhere are the real-world benefits of 3D printing technology more poignant than in the medical realm, where scientists, researchers and doctors are delivering breakthroughs seemingly ripped straight from the pages of science fiction masterpieces.
Many of these modern medical marvels will be on display in a specialized 3D Medical Experience Center in the exhibit hall at 3D Printer World Expo – the broadest-ever assembly of 3D printers, education and related technologies.
The 3D Medical Experience Center, sponsored by Organovo, which designs and creates functional, three-dimensional human tissues for medical research and therapeutic applications, will enlighten 3D Printer World Expo attendees with a special display on bioprinting for human tissue engineering and groundbreaking therapies. The Center also will provide an interactive tour through real-life case studies demonstrating 3D printing uses in various medical applications including pre-surgery models of bones, ocular prosthetics and prosthetic limbs.
Access to the 3D Medical Experience Center is included with all Expo passes. Other attractions include live demonstrations of 3D printers, contests and giveaways, interactive exhibits, a gallery of 3D printed art from renowned artists and much more. Four concurrent 3D printing education tracks also are available at the Expo – a Commercial 3D Printing track, a Desktop 3D Printing track, a track devoted to Learning with 3D Printing and a track for artists, entitled Modeling and Monetizing 3D Printable Designs.
