Pittcon 2015: Brooks Instrument to Showcase Prominent Measurement and Control Products

Brooks Instrument, a world-leading provider of advanced flow, pressure, vacuum, level and vapor delivery solutions will be exhibiting a broad range of mass flow meters, controllers and gauges used for laboratory and research applications at Pittcon 2015, held March 8-12 in New Orleans.

Brooks GF40/80 Series thermal mass flow controller

Located in booth 2701, Brooks Instrument will be showcasing several products to help R&D and analytical lab scientists improve their productivity, such as the GF40/80 Series thermal mass flow controllers (MFCs) and flow meters; the newly enhanced SLA Series of smart MFCs; the Sho-Rate™ family of glass tube flow meters; pressure gauges; and a complete offering of reliable, accurate and cost-effective standard and custom acrylic flow meters.

Applications engineers will be available to answer questions about flow measurement and control and advise researchers and students alike on the proper instrumentation to use to achieve the most accurate and relevant results. In addition, Brooks Instrument will include an interactive demonstration using a thermal mass flow controller and digital display readout where attendees can adjust the flow control and see the effects in real time.

The company’s prominent measurement, instrumentation and control products will include:

GF40/80 Series thermal mass flow controllers and flow meters: Brooks Instrument will highlight its industry-leading GF40/80 Series thermal mass flow controllers and flow meters available with the company’s patented MultiFlo™ technology. This proven technology enables fast changeover from one gas type to another so research, development and laboratory users can quickly change their experiment conditions and achieve higher process accuracy.

With flow rates up to 50 slpm and a “normally open” valve for non-hazardous gas applications, these devices are an excellent choice for applications that require a higher flow rate with the flexibility of a MultiFlo-capable mass flow controller.

Newly enhanced SLA Series digital mass flow controllers and flow meters: Whether it’s for research or production processes, the SLA Series delivers long-term stability that yields better, more reliable and accurate results.

With upgraded electronics, improved accuracy for tighter process control and improved service port access, the SLA Series combines industry-leading repeatability with “smart” self-diagnostics and alarms to help minimize downtime and keep processes and experiments running smoothly. SLA Series controllers and meters also support a wider range of digital communications protocols, including DeviceNet™, FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus and now PROFIBUS. The company also offers electronic pressure controllers as part of the SLA family, which have been upgraded recently, along with the Brooks Expert Support Tool (BEST) software application that provides users with more control for configuration, diagnostics, valve tuning and more.

Newly enhanced Sho-Rate™ glass tube flow meters: Drawing from more than 60 years of design and application expertise, Brooks Instrument Sho-Rate glass tube variable area flow meters (rotameters) are ideal for a wide variety of gas and liquid flow measuring applications where users want to view the measurement process.

Sho-Rate meters are available in several models with varying ranges of capacity. With easy-to-read displays, field-replaceable tube and float kits, different construction materials, and custom scales, Sho-Rate flow meters are versatile enough for critical materials in any industry, from petrochemical and biotechnology to analytical and laboratory research.

Pressure gauges: Brooks Instrument pressure gauges feature all-stainless wetted materials, welded in an oxygen-free environment to meet cleanliness and safety guidelines for all demanding requirements, including high-purity gases. An optional transmitting alarm or continuous transmitter adds versatility in applications where automation is required.
