Huntsman Add Innovative Emulsifier to Metalworking Product Range

Huntsman Corporation announced today the addition of the innovative and versatile emulsifier SURFONIC® MW 100 additive to its metalworking product range.

SURFONIC® MW 100 additive is a single-component vegetable oil emulsifier designed to enhance the metalworking properties of vegetable oil-based lubricants. It is low foaming, compatible with phosphate esters and can be used to formulate macro or micro emulsions that are very stable. In addition, it has a low pour point for easy handling as well as a low toxicity.

“Current trends toward greener chemistries have resulted in a move to synthetic and semi-synthetic formulations with bio-based chemistries,” states David Hester, Global Business Director, Resources, Fuels and Lubricants. “With our innovative SURFONIC® MW 100 additive, we are bringing surface-active solutions to the metalworking customer who works with vegetable oil-based metalworking fluids.”
