US Marines Order More Body Armour

It was announced today that Simula has just received a further order for Small Arms Protective Inserts, or SAPI. The most recent order is worth US$1.5 million and involves another 4,000 pieces.

This order comes on the back of an earlier order this month worth US$3.1 million. Orders for Simula’s SAPI now total approximately US$16.5 million, equating to about 43,000 pieces. All outstanding orders are expected to be delivered by the end of the second quarter of this year.

All of these orders are part of an ongoing indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with the US Army announced in October 2001.

The Simula orders are also in addition to a US$3.7 million order placed on Ceradyne this month to supply SAPI.
