A.Schulman to Close Texas Dispersions Plant

Plastics compound and resin manufacturer A Schulman have announced that they will be closing their Texas-based (USA) dispersions plant.

The decision to close the plant was in response to higher resin prices and reduced demand for engineered plastics and the need to cut costs.

The plant which produces black concentrates and thermoplastic olefins for the domestic automotive market will be completely shut down by the end of August. The fate of the 68 workers is currently not clear.
