Thwing-Albert Introduces the FP-2265 Friction/Peel Tester

Thwing-Albert Instrument Company announces the launch of the FP-2265 Friction/Peel Tester, replacing the FP-2260 with a redesigned platform built for today's quality control lab. The FP-2265 is a benchtop tester for coefficient of friction (COF), peel adhesion, seal strength, and light tensile testing, covering multiple test methods with interchangeable fixtures for plastic film, paper, paperboard, adhesives, labels, and flexible packaging materials.

The FP-2265 launches with a new color touchscreen interface, replacing the traditional membrane keypad with a more intuitive operator experience. Built-in pneumatic controls eliminate the need for a separate pneumatic controller, simplifying setup and improving repeatability for pneumatic grip and fixture applications. An optional Universal Instrument Remote (UIR) puts test control at the operator's fingertips, enabling quick adjustments without interrupting workflow.

Labs upgrading from Thwing-Albert's FP-2260 will find the transition straightforward. The FP-2265 accepts all existing fixtures and load cells from the FP-2260, FP-2255, and FP-2250, protecting prior tooling investment. The FP-2265 supports testing to ASTM, ISO, TAPPI, FINAT, PSTC, and TLMI standards across all four test modes. The instrument can operate as a standalone tester without a PC and is compatible with optional MAP4 Materials Testing Software for advanced analysis.

Key features of the FP-2265 include:

  • Color touchscreen interface
  • Integrated pneumatic controls, no separate pneumatic controller needed
  • Compatible with all existing FP-2260, FP-2255, FP-2250 fixtures, clamps, and load cells
  • Export data in CSV format to flash drive or serial output
  • Store up to 30 saved test methods and 128 saved test results.
  • Password protection with configurable security groups
  • MAP4 Materials Testing Software compatible (optional)
  • Dual load cell capability with automatic load cell recognition (optional)
  • Universal Instrument Remote (UIR) control (optional)
  • Heated platen for elevated temperature testing up to 204.4 °C / 400 °F (optional)

"The FP-2265 delivers accurate data and greater efficiency, and paired with MAP4 software, it's a powerful yet straightforward solution for quality control in the label and adhesives industries," said Dave Zarrilli, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Thwing-Albert Instrument Company.

The FP-2265 Friction/Peel Tester is available now.
