Air Products to Acquire Ashland’s Electronic Chemical Business

Air Products have signed a definitive agreement to acquire the electronic chemicals business of Ashland Specialty Chemical Company. The deal is worth approximately $300 million, with closing dependent on regulatory approvals.

Ashland’s electronic chemicals business supplies high purity chemicals to the electronics industry for the manufacture of semiconductors. Some of their products include:

  • Photoresist strippers
  • Etch residue strippers
  • High purity process chemicals
  • Copper plating solutions
  • Chemical mechanical planarisation (CMP) slurries

The product lines from Ashland enhances the product offerings of Air Products and will help them to formulate new solutions for the electronics industry.
