BaoSteel and Nippon Steel Form Chinese Steel Joint Venture

China’s largest steel maker Baoshan Iron and Steel have signed an agreement with Nippon Steel to set up a joint venture to manufacture steel in China for the auto industry.

The $363 million joint venture will be 50:50 owned by the two companies.

The plant will produce steel plate for use in cars, to help satisfy demand from the rapidly expanding automotive industry.
