Goodyear Engineered Products has captured gold, earning a top supplier award from the leading U.S. construction aggregate provider.
More than 170 plant managers at Vulcan Materials facilities evaluated suppliers based on products, services, technical support, value propositions and ease of conducting business. Goodyear's conveyor belt business garnered one of the highest scores and captured Vulcan's 2006 Gold Supplier Award.
"Our associates and vast distributor network earned this recognition because of their commitment to supplying world-class products and service to Vulcan locations cross the country," said Mike Braucher, Goodyear's marketing manager for conveyor belts. "We are proud to receive the award from this industry leader."
Braucher said Goodyear has had its eye on going for the gold since the company began supplying heavy-duty conveyor belts to Vulcan in 1997."We've achieved two bronze followed by five consecutive silver awards," he said, "but there's nothing like winning gold."
He said Goodyear Authorized Distributors, or GADs, are essential to the strong 10-year relationship the company has built and sustained with Vulcan. GADs help fulfill Goodyear's value proposition by marketing and selling branded products, providing expert services and offering trained technical support to Vulcan plant managers.
"Our success is predicated on our customers' success," Braucher explained, "so we work very hard to help Vulcan maintain efficient conveyor systems and maximize production of crushed stone, sand and gravel. It's the customer first, always."
Last year, Goodyear significantly increased sales to Vulcan sites, compared to 2005, providing continuous process improvements and a business relationship grounded on communication.
"We're committed to customer service, earning Vulcan's business day after day and winning this prestigious award year after year," said Braucher.
In addition to heavy-duty and lightweight conveyor belts, Goodyear Engineered Products manufactures industrial and automotive belts, hose, air springs and molded products.
