Kraton Polymers to be Acquired by Texas Pacific

Texas Pacific Group have reached an agreement to acquire Kraton Polymers from Ripplewood Holdings who have owned it since 2001. Texas Pacific and Ripplewood are both private investment companies.

The purchase values Kraton at $770 million, and the transaction is due to close before the end of the year.

Kraton is a specialty chemicals company and the world’s largest producer of styrenic block copolymers. Styrenic block copolymers are used in adhesives, sealants, asphalt and bitumen, footwear, packaging, compounding and personal hygiene products.

Kraton have manufacturing facilities located in the USA, Netherlands, Germany, France, Brazil and Japan.
