Indentation University Session 17: High-Speed Nanoindentation

Session 17 of the KLA Instruments Indentation University discusses the NanoBlitz3Doption for rapid mechanical properties mapping of materials.

About this Webinar

Session 17 details the NanoBlitz3D software, how it works, and its advantages for rapid mechanical property mapping. Data is shown for diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on steel, a nickel superalloy, wood cell structures, and shale.

Note: for Session 17, it is recommended to view the following Indentation University webinars as background for the discussion:

Attend this Indentation University webinar and you will:

  • Learn how NanoBlitz3D works
  • Understand the advantages of rapid mechanical property mapping
  • Understand the pros, cons, and assumptions of continuous-contact scanning
  • How the large statistical sampling of NanoBlitz3D can be used to generate histographic data

About the Speaker

Jennifer Hay, Senior Applications Scientist, KLA Instruments

Jennifer Hay specializes in nanoindentation and is formerly a Senior Applications Engineer for KLA Instruments. Before joining KLA, she held similar positions at Nanomechanics, Keysight, Agilent, and MTS Systems Corporation.

Jennifer has worked in the field of nanoindentation since 1996, advancing standardization while also developing methodology for new applications, such as thin films, polymers, gels, and biomaterials.

She has served as chair of the MEMS/Nanomechanics technical division of the Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM), and authored numerous journal articles on nanoindentation, including an invited feature series in the SEM journal Experimental Techniques.
