High Temperature Optical Measuring System from Expert System Solutions
Dr. Mariano Paganelli from Expert System Solutions shows us their high temperature optical measuring system. This instrument can provide thermal expansion data like a dilatometer, but has the added benefit that it uses optical techniques as opposed to mechanical measuring, so it can cater for non-rigid samples.
This instrument also provides detailed information on how a material will behave during a heat treatment, including melting and sintering bahviour. It can also measure deformation at elevated temperatures, viscosity of glass above the glass transition temperature and residual stresses between a glaze and body.
The instrument itself can reach temperatures of up to 1600°C and heat up at 80°C/min, with the ability to perform flash heating.
