The New Nanotribometer from CSM Instruments

Nicholas Randall shows us the key features and capabilities of the new Nanotribometer from CSM Instruments. It uses similar loadings to an AFM, but can use wear partners with different size and shapes compared to an AFM probe tip.

This fact means that the Nanotribometer bridges the gap between AFM tribology and macro tribology testing machines.

Applications for the Nanotribometer include: self assembled monolayers; contact lenses; soft tissues; very thin films; diamond like carbon coatings, or hard disk drives.
