The TrueSurface Microscopy System from Witec

Dr. Olaf Hollricher from Witec shows us their award winning TrueSurface Microscopy system. It uses Raman spectroscopy technology but has advantages over confocal Raman spectroscopy in that it is able to accurately track the surface of the sample and in the process keeping it in focus at all times. This allows it to produce accurate Raman spectra at all points across the surface. The demonstration illustrates how it can be used across a curved surface, but the system is equally capable on rough or corrugated surfaces.

Furthermore, the TrueSurface Microscopy system can collect Raman spectra at all points across the surface producing chemical maps across the surface as well as topographical maps of the sample surface.

Run time - 5:05 minutes.
