UNS C64200 aluminium / aluminum bronze is a copper alloy with a combination of 5 – 12%. In addition to aluminium, iron, nickel, manganese and silicon in cast and wrought form are present in the alloy.
A hard, adherent, protective alumina film present in this alloy makes the alloy better resistant to corrosion and stronger than typical brasses and tin bronzes. UNS C64200 comes in an attractive golden color which does not tarnish much with time.

The following are the recommendations of UNS C64200 welding:
- Soldering - not recommended
- Brazing - fair
- Oxyacetylene welding - not recommended
- Gas shielded arc welding is rated – fair
- Coated metal arc welding is rated – fair
- Spot welding is rated – fair
- Seam welding is rated – fair
- Butt welding is rated -fair
The hot forgeability rating of UNS C64200 is 80%. The hot working temperature for this alloy is between 1300 and 1600ºF.
UNS C64200 copper alloys have excellent hot working property.
UNS C64200 copper alloys have poor cold working property.
Annealing of UNS C64200 is performed between 1100 and 1300ºF.
