Introduction

Pure copper has high electrical and thermal conductivity. Alloys can be freely formed by the copper. UNS C11300 silver-bearing tough Pitch copper has 101% IACS conductivity, and high ductility. It is available in the form of wire, rod, and tube.

Machinability

Machinability of UNS C11300 copper is about 20%.

Welding

UNS C11300 copper can be welded by using various welding methods such as brazing, soldering, butt welding, and gas shielded arc welding. Seam welding, oxyacetylene welding, coated metal arc welding, and spot welding methods should not be used for welding this alloy.

Forging

UNS C11300 copper can be forged at 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). This alloy has hot forgeability of about 65%.

Hot Working

UNS C11300 copper has good hot working capacity.

Cold Working

UNS C11300 copper has good cold working capacity.

Annealing

UNS C11300 copper can be annealed at 483 to 760°C (900 to1400°F).

Applications

UNS C11300 copper is mainly used in commutator segments and electrical components.
