Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Annealing

UNS C12100 copper alloys are annealed between 371 and 649°C (700 and 1200°F).

Cold Working

UNS C12100 copper alloys have excellent annealing capacity.

Welding

UNS C12100 copper alloys are capable of being oxyacetylene welded, butt welded, gas shielded arc welded, brazed and soldered. Welding processes not recommended for these alloys include seam welding, coated metal arc welding and spot welding.

Forging

Temperatures between 760 and 871°C (1400 and 1600°F) are best suited for the UNS C12100 copper alloys whose hot forgeability rating is 65%.

Machinability

UNS C12100 copper alloys have a machinability rating of 20%.

Hot Working

UNS C12100 copper alloys have an excellent hot forming capacity.

Applications

UNS C12100 copper alloys are used for components with welding requirements. Some of these components include bus bars, electromechanical hardware connectors etc.
