Introduction

UNS C22600 jewellery bronze is an alloy of copper and zinc. It has similar characteristics as that of UNS C22000 bronze alloy. Yet it is stronger than C22000 bronze alloy. The following section will discuss in detail about UNS C22600 jewellery bronze, which is UNS C22600 copper-zinc brass.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Machinability

The machinability rating of C22600 copper alloys is 30.

Welding

Welding methods such as soldering, brazing, oxyacetylene welding, gas shielded arc welding, spot welding and butt welding are preferred for C22600 copper alloys. Coated metal arc welding and seam welding are not preferred for this type of alloys.

Forging

C22600 copper alloys are forged at temperatures ranging from 760 to 899°C (1400 to 1650°F).

Hot Working

C22600 copper alloys have good hot working property.

Cold Working

C22600 copper alloys have good cold working property.

Annealing

Annealing of C22600 copper alloys is performed at temperatures ranging from 427 to 760°C (800 to 1400°F).
