Introduction
UNS C96400 copper alloy is ductile and anti-corrosive. The addition of iron
to the alloy makes it resistant to flowing sea-water. UNS C96400 alloy is used
in marine applications, condensers and heat exchangers.
The following datasheet provides chemical composition and properties of UNS
C96400 alloy.

Machinability
UNS C96400 alloy has a machinability rating of 20.
Welding
The preferred welding techniques for UNS C96400 alloy are soldering, coated
metal arc welding, brazing and gas shielded arc welding. Carbon arc welding and
oxyacetylene welding are not recommended for this alloy.
Heat Treatment
UNS C96400 alloy does not respond to heat treatment.
