Introduction

Grade 302B is a standard specification for chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel sheet, plate, and strip used mainly for pressure vessels and also for some general applications. It has the same corrosion resistance as grade 304 and a slightly higher strength due to the additional carbon content.

The following datasheet provides an overview of grade 302B stainless steel.

Chemical Composition

The chemical composition of grade 302B stainless steel is outlined in the following table.

Element Content (%)
Iron, fe Balance
Chromium, Cr 17-19
Nickel, Ni 8-10
Silicon, Si 2-3
Manganese, Mn 2
Carbon, C 0.15
Nitrogen, N 0.1
Phosphorous, P 0.045
Sulfur, S 0.03
