A Schiff Base Nickel Complex. A New Material as Modifier for Selective Electrodes

There has been a considerable effort in recent years towards the preparation of new materials containing polyfunctional units (ligands) able to bind metallic ions. These complexes are studied to test their potential in the development of chemically modified electrodes for use in pollutant detection.

This article looks at the rear panel in Plasma Display Panel, barrier ribs and the formation by photosensitive paste of stripe and matrix arrangements to maintain the discharge space between the two glass plates as well as to prevent electrical and optical cross talking between the adjacent cells.

Optically Readable Hydrogen Sensor Using Pd/Y Double-Layered Thin Films

The optical properties of palladium (Pd) / yttrium (Y) double-layered thin films have been investigated to realize an optical hydrogen sensor with high sensitivity at room temperature. Compared with previously reported Pd-based optical sensor, the Pd/Y films had a great advantage of high sensitivity

New Characterization Method for Macrostructures of Ceramics Hybrid Material

This paper presents powerful new characterization methods for ceramic and ceramic hybrid materials based on optical microscopy. These new methods can reveal detrimental defects. Comfocal laser scanning fluorescent microscopy and infrared microscopy are also applied.

Surface Integrity Control During The Precision Machining Of Brittle Materials

In this paper the concept of ‘damage-free’ machining is reviewed and the importance of machine tool characteristics highlighted with reference to diamond turning and grinding. Examples are given showing the machining of various materials including glasses, silicon and ferroelectric ceramics.

Electro-Optical Characterization of In-Situ Indium Doped CdS Thin Films by Chemical Bath

This article shows how cadmium sulfide thin films were successfully indium doped during the growing process by means of a chemical bath. This n-type doping method can be useful to prepare CdS photovoltaic solar cells.
