Commercial Silicon Nitride Powders Surface Structures Evaluated By X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (Xps)

Seven commercial Si3N4 powders produced by different production processes, nitridation media and further acid treatments were analyzed by XPS technique. The XPS spectra of all as received powders show Si 2p, C 1s, N 1s and O 1s signals. Si 2p signals were deconvoluted using a peak fit software.
