Perlos to Spend 15m Euros to Expand Hungarian Plant

Perlos will make a capacity expansion investment of approximately EUR 15 million at its Komárom plant in Hungary. A new factory hall measuring 9,000 square metres will be built in conjunction to the existing plant. As a result, the total surface area of the Komárom plant will rise to 21,500 square metres, making it into Perlos’ largest plant. The investment also includes the construction of a new painting line.

For the extension, Perlos has purchased a land plot measuring 50,000 square metres. The construction works will be initiated during the summer, and the new factory hall is expected to go into production use during the first quarter of 2005.

The incentive for the extension is the rise in the demand for Perlos’ services in Central Europe. Hungary is geographically an important area for Perlos, because the company delivers mechanical modules from Hungary to many of its global customers, both in the telecommunications and automotive industries. Hungary is also an important location for Perlos regarding new customer acquisition – the electronics industry, for example, has a strong presence in Central Europe.
