Solutia's Saflex Website Wins Best of the Web Award

Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA), the world leader in the production and sale of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers, today announced that the company's Saflex website was awarded first place, supplier division by USGlass Magazine in their second annual "Best of the Web" Contest.

Launched on May 13, the newly redesigned site was developed to improve communication with the automotive and architectural glazing industries as well as solar module makers in the photovoltaic industry. Reinforcing its strong heritage as the world leader in protective interlayers for laminated glass, the new Saflex website offers a broad view of the various benefits and possibilities available to improve the properties of architectural and automotive glass. The expanded Photovoltaic section includes new information about encapsulant solutions for solar module manufactures, including product offering information and frequently asked questions.

"All of the websites nominated by readers of the USGNN.com newsletter for the Second Annual USGlass Best of the Web contest were ranked on a scale of 1 to 5 for each of the criterion used by judges in ranking websites for the Webby Awards, the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including: content; structure and navigation; visual design; functionality; interactivity; and overall experience. Our judges were particularly pleased with the well-presented design of www.saflex.com and the ease of finding information on the site," says Megan Headley, editor of USGlass Magazine. USGlass is the largest and most widely circulated glass magazine in the world.

"We are very pleased to receive this recognition from USGlass magazine," said Aimee Davis, Global Marketing Communications Manager. "Our internal team strived to ensure that the information and site design was relevant and dynamic for our target audiences around the globe. With users accessing our site from around the world, we needed to help visitors find and use the critical information they need, 24 hours a day - whether they are in St. Louis or Shanghai."

Visitors to the new Saflex website can access information based on their market interest and the corresponding solution they desire from laminated glazing. Automotive engineers, for example, can investigate the benefits of weight and noise reduction that Saflex Q series advanced acoustic technology brings to laminated glazing through the new environment section on the site. Architects and designers can also create custom color glazing options online in the new Vanceva Color Studio. Visitors can also dynamically create their own unique custom color and visualize it on a building façade or interior application before placing their sample order. Saflex.com will continue to be updated with new features. Several upgrades are planned, including a password-protected section for customers and multi-language functionality.
