Bodycote Materials Testing Expands Canadian Operations with Acquisition of Hoogensen Metallurgical Engineering

Bodycote Materials Testing is pleased to announce the acquisition of Hoogensen Metallurgical Engineering Ltd. with offices in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.

This strategic purchase expands the Bodycote relationships in the Oil & Gas Industry in Houston and the United Kingdom into the Province of Alberta, Canada. Bodycote will also extend its Rail services in Montreal and Chicago to service the Western Canada Rail & LRT systems.

Hoogensen has been providing superior Engineering, Inspection, Welding, Testing and Metallurgical Consulting services for the past 20 years, and will now benefit from the resources and support of Bodycote’s global network.

A full range of comprehensive services in engineering, metallurgy, chemical analysis, NDT inspection, materials characterization, failure analysis, and consulting will be provided to Western Canada. All Hoogensen employees have transferred to Bodycote and will operate under Bodycote’s’ Canadian management team, thereby providing a seamless transition that adds great synergies to our existing businesses.

Bodycote is also pleased to announce that the Calgary facility is the 1st in Canada to be accredited to ISO/TS 29001:2003 specific requirements for the Petroleum, Petrochemical & Natural Gas Industries. Scope of registration includes:

  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Structural Design Engineering
  • Failure Analysis
  • Metallurgical Laboratory
  • NDE Inspection Services
