ES Robbins, the leading global manufacturer of chairmats, has introduced the ecoKLEER™ chairmat — the first-ever office product utilizing Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. Tritan is a new-generation copolyester that balances the properties of clarity, toughness and ease of processing.

The clarity of the ES Robbins ecoKLEER™ chairmat made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester creates a cohesive, aesthetic office appearance, allowing users to clearly see the flooring under the mat. Tritan is extremely durable so the chairmat can withstand daily wear and tear of foot traffic and heavy office furniture without cracking, extending the product life cycle and contributing toward improved sustainability by reducing overall office waste.
“We spend a lot of time in the office, and companies are increasingly interested in products that contribute to the health and safety of their workers and the environment,” Robbins said. “By using Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, we can expand our line of functional, protective office floor covering, providing our customers an ecologically preferable alternative to polycarbonate (PC) chairmats.”
ES Robbins selected Eastman Tritan™ copolyester for the ecoKLEER™ chairmat because the performance and material benefits of Tritan, including toughness and clarity, exceeded those of alternative materials. Eastman experts invited ES Robbins to observe the manufacturing process of Tritan firsthand to provide additional confidence in the material, and offered technical assistance throughout the chairmat product development.
The ecoKLEER™ chairmat is available for carpet and hard floor applications in three sizes: 36 by 48 inches with lip; 45 by 53 inches with lip; and 46 by 60 inches rectangle. The ecoKLEER™ chairmat will be available through select office product superstores, independent office product retailers, online resellers and flooring distributors.
