Tekra Releases New UV Resistant Hardcoated Polyester

Tekra Corporation announces the launch of Dura-Go® ProTek® Weatherable Clear Polyester, a new UV resistant hardcoated polyester with superior optical properties.

The film blocks over 99% of UVA, UVB, and UVC light, the light that yellows and cracks plastics along with fading HP Indigo ink.

Every roll of base film has a certified 2000 hours of simulated weathering in a Xenon arc chamber to ensure the highest quality of weatherable film. In addition, the hardcoat provides protection for underlying graphics in highly demanding environments and further protects from scratch, abrasion and chemical attack. The hardcoat is completely transparent so it provides total clarity and perfect image fidelity. HP Indigo printers will also still enjoy Tekra’s Dura-Go coating with superior print receptiveness, excellent ink adhesion, and full coating coverage. According to John Steinke, Tekra’s Market Development Manager-Digital, “Dura-Go ProTek Weatherable now allows HP Indigo printers the opportunity to manufacture outdoor applications for harsh environements with their digital press that they were not able to do before.”

Dura-Go ProTek Weatherable is available on 7mil super clear base film (product# I71907). Typical applications for Dura-Go ProTek Weatherable Polyester include nameplates, faceplates, and overlays.
