GE to Acquire Advanced Ceramics Corp

GE Specialty Materials has entered into an agreement to purchase Advanced Ceramics Corporation and Advanced Ceramics International Corporation. The deal is set to close later this year and terms were not disclosed.

Advanced Ceramics manufactures high temperature powders, shapes and coatings which are used in a range of different applications. They are headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and have manufacturing operations in Ohio, Wales and Japan.

The acquisition aids the growth of GE’s Specialty Materials division and has synergies with their existing quartz, superabrasive and silicones businesses.
