The Dow Chemical has renewed global distribution agreement with Targray Technology International.
Based on the agreement, Targray will become the exclusive distributor of the ENLIGHT polyolefin encapsulant films. Targray is one of the leading suppliers of raw materials and products to the photovoltaic industry.
Dow's ENLIGHT(TM) polyolefin encapsulant film technology can enhance efficiencies in photovoltaic (PV) module production and lead to lower conversion costs with potentially shorter lamination cycle times.
The ENLIGHT is a high performance film that can improve the efficiencies in solar module production. It also reduces conversion expenditures and lamination cycle times without compromising on material stability and adhesion performance during the lamination process.
Dow Chemical’s technology combined with Targray’s market expertise will contribute to the growth of both companies. Targray has extended its commercial product portfolio with the addition of Dow’s ENLIGHT polyolefin encapsulant films.
The ENLIGHT materials are ideal for encapsulation of thin film and c-Si photovoltaic modules. These films provide higher stability and enhanced electrical performance than conventional encapsulants. Other benefits of the ENLIGHT encapsulants include high UV stability, low Water Vapor Transmission Rate and absence of acetic acid generation. These benefits allow PV modules to experience minimal output efficiency loss when exposed to moisture, UV light and heat. The ENLIGHT encapsulant films are listed as "Recognized Components" by Underwriters Laboratories.
