Airgas Completes Acquisition of ABCO

Airgas declared that it has purchased ABCO Gases, Welding and Industrial Supply Company based in Waterford, Connecticut.

ABCO supplies protocol gases, specialty gas mixes, liquid gases, ultra-purity gases, robotic and automated welding systems, industrial cutting and welding tools and a full range of safety products and accessories for customers operating in the industrial and medical field. The company has facilities in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

On an average, ABCO employees have 32 years of industry experience. The company now operates under the East operations of Airgas. ABCO has 12 New England facilities that comprise an equipment service center, a fill facility, retail stores and a headquarters.

According to Tony Simonetta, who serves as President at Airgas East, ABCO caters to the same customers as Airgas such as defense contractors, pharmaceutical firms, hospitals, steel fabricators and shipyards. This acquisition is a perfect fit for both the companies, he added.

Former President of ABCO, Mike Ross, who now works with Airgas East management team, commented that ABCO’s values are similar to those of Airgas. The former owner of ABCO, David McCourt stated that Airgas and ABCO are dedicated to offer simple to intricate solutions to their customers.
