Tovatech has introduced a moisture analyzer, KERN MLB 50-3N, which allows rapid, precise and simple moisture analysis. The display shows values up to 0.001g or 0.01 % moisture and the data obtained can be printed via an optional connected printer. The data recorded includes date, time and sample identification number.
The device has a large liquid crystal display panel that shows the progress as well as the moisture analysis process. The data shown on the display include an active drying process, present temperature, moisture content percentage, previous sample drying time, and the switch-off mode by weight or time. Moisture content is obtained as a percentage of weight loss from the initial weight and shown from 0 to 100%. Dry mass is shown from 100% to0 % as residual weight from the initial weight. By using a 400 W halogen heater the MLB 50-3N operates at a temperature from 50 to 160°C, has a maximum weighing capacity of 50 g, linearity of ±0.003 g and repeatability of 0.003 g. Four heating profiles can be chosen by technicians that include soft, step, fast and standard depending on material characteristics of the sample.
An external calibration weight and temperature calibration set is optionally provided with the analyzer to ensure that accuracy is maintained. Instructions are included in the calibration system. Temperature calibration tests are done at two points, whereas for weight calibration the standard 50 g weight is kept on the pan. In case there are discrepancies, it can be corrected by following the instructions.
