Ashland, a provider of specialty chemicals and technologies for several markets, announced that one of its commercial units, Ashland Specialty Ingredients, will display a series of innovative coating and wood care products at PaintIndia that is scheduled from February 23 to 25, 2012 in Mumbai, India.
Global marketing director of the company’s Coatings Specialties division, Shruti Singhal, noted that currently there is an increase in demand for products that integrate high performance and a potential to meet regulatory requirements. He added that the ideal option is waterborne coatings.
Various high-performance coating solutions to be showcased at the event include Natrosol, Aquaflow, Advantage, DrewPlus, Dextrol, Strodex and Nuosept. Natrosol hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is extensively used as a thickener for waterborne architectural coatings and Aquaflow is a nonionic synthetic associative thickener (NSAT), which is free from alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO). Dextrol and Strodex are specialty surfactants and Advantage and DrewPlus are foam control agents. The company will also feature a range of wood care products, including Escalol UV stabilizers, SunCare lignin protection technology, WetCare water repellency additive, SunCare TopCoat UV protection additive, specialty rheology modifiers and siloxane-based foam control agents.
Nandu Dhekne, VP of Ashland Specialty Ingredients’ Asia Pacific, stated that with the recent purchase of International Specialty Products (ISP), the company has enhanced its coating product range.
