TRW Automotive Opens Polish Engineering Center

TRW Occupant Safety Holding GmbH, a subsidiary of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., has announced the opening of a new engineering center in Czestochowa, Poland. TRW Automotive anticipates that the center will employ more than 200 people by the end of 2006.

The Czestochowa Engineering Center has been introduced to support the global activities of the Occupant Safety Systems (OSS) business. It has facilities to provide services in product design, numerical simulation, performance modeling, applications engineering, testing, software and hardware engineering, and configuration management, as well as having a fully fitted prototype shop.

Doug Campbell, vice president engineering OSS, TRW Automotive, commented, "The establishment of this center is in support of our expected significant growth in the coming years. We have a well-established manufacturing presence in Poland and the Czech Republic and have recently opened a facility in Romania. This expands our engineering presence in Eastern Europe."

TRW Automotive first established a presence in Poland in 1990, and now employs more than 4500 people, reflecting its strength in the active and passive safety field. TRW has five plants in Poland with two sites in Czestochowa, one in Gliwice, one in Czechowice-Dziedzice and one in Pruszkow.
