Vacumet, a wholly owned subsidiary of Scholle, has introduced innovative compostable metallized packaging papers. These packaging papers have been tested and certified to be environmentally-friendly products in a managed composting plant. These papers meet ASTM D-6868 standards.

The new papers provide eco-friendly options to metallized films, foil laminated papers and paper, and are suitable for use in bags and sandwich wraps and also for pouching in a variety of applications. The metallized packaging papers are offered in different weights as well as in a range of functional performance features.

According to Vacumet’s Director of Business & Technical Development, Joe Formosa, the foils employed in food packaging process can be replaced with the company’s new compostable metallized papers, which offer an eco-friendly alternative solution. Consumers are aware of eco-friendly food packaging and so the company developed a green product to fulfill these demands, Formosa stated.

The company formulated the unique functional properties of this new packaging paper line, whose prominent visual appeal makes it attractive to consumers. Vacumet will continue to provide its high-quality custom design services in order to complement the new compostable metallized packaging papers.
