KBR, an international engineering, construction and services company, has reported that it will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solution and an integrated technology to the flexible feed ethylene facility owned by Uz-Kor Gas Chemical.

The facility is located in the Ustyurt area of Uzbekistan. This ethylene plant has a capacity to produce 400,000 Mt annually. This ethylene facility is based on the license of KBR in Uzbekistan. KBR’s selective cracking and optimum recovery (SCORE) technology will be used in this plant.

KBR will offer SCORE technology license, basic engineering package, in-country support for construction, start-up services and operator training. Additionally, it will offer comprehensive engineering and design solution for the furnace segment of the ethylene facility and supply equipment associated with the ethylene furnace. Further EPC solutions will be provided by GS Engineering and Construction for the project. Collaboration between KBR and GS Engineering & Construction will be strengthened by means of this project and will provide EPC solutions to prospective customers.

KBR offers this SCORE technology to the petrochemical industry and this technology is optimized from the perspective of ethylene manufacturer and design contractor.

According to KBR’s Downstream President, David Zelinski, the company is delighted to provide its services and technology to an Uzbek facility for the first time. Both Uzbekistan and KBR will experience significant business growth through abundant gas and other natural resources from the region, Zelinski stated.
