Fortrans Launches New Product to Brighten Aluminum Surfaces

Fortrans, a producer of low-toxicity, biodegradable specialty chemicals and various other environment- related products, has introduced Safe Bright, an aluminum brightener.

The product is a safe alternative to hazardous hydrofluoric acid, ammonium bifluoride and other acid products that are utilized to brighten aluminum. Safe Bright will deoxidize and brighten the surfaces of aluminum. The innovative brightener employs a new material that has secured the EPA P2 Pollution Prevention Award. In addition, Safe Bright has an HMIS code 1, which denotes a eye and skin irritant, and is non-regulated by DOT.

Safe-Bright from Fortrans has very low odor and will not etch or attack glass products. It does not etch or dull aluminum surfaces and is safe to apply on rubber seals, plastic, chrome-plated hydraulic rams and painted surfaces. The aluminum brightener is free from hydrochloric acid and it does not generate corrosive vapors or fumes. In addition, it helps to remove satins and deposits from tinted surfaces that are caused by acid rain and hard water. These stains will decrease the life of tinted surfaces, as well as dull the finishes.

Safe-Bright product is ideal for application in the food manufacturing, marine, automotive, fuel tankers, lime and cement transport and ready-mixed concrete industries. When the product is used along with the Fortrans’ concrete removers, an aluminum brightener and the concrete remover is offered as a single product.
