Maax Finalise Acquisition of Aker Plastics

Composites manufacturer Maax have just finalised their acquisition of Aker Plastics. The transaction will cost Maax US$78 million.

Aker plastics are America’s third largest manufacturer of fibreglass bathroom products. They also manufacture acrylic bathroom products and have operations in West Virginia and Indiana.

The acquisition will realise a number of synergies between the two companies. They will be able to combine forces and reduce operating costs. They will also be able to utilise existing distribution channels to push each others’ products into new markets and form a stronger market base.
