Drinktec 2013: Graphic Packaging to Demonstrate Benefits of Consumer-Driven Innovation

Graphic Packaging International will demonstrate at Drinktec 2013 the benefits of consumer-driven innovation. Graphic Packaging's exhibit (#325 in hall A5) will showcase a range of packaging solutions that deliver on the three key packaging benefits identified by consumers: functionality, branding and sustainability.

The Company's solutions range from the development of comfortable, strong and reliable carrying handles to total packaging systems such as Tite-Pak®.

Tite-Pak® is Graphic Packaging's new fully enclosed packaging solution for glass bottles. It includes a number of unique features that enhance glass protection, reduce glass breakage and facilitate bottle light-weighting. Tite-Pak® will be shown running on the latest-generation of Quikflex® 2100G3 packaging machine.

"The developments we are demonstrating at Drinktec 2013 were inspired by global consumer insights and global market trends," explained Mike Schmal, Graphic Packaging Senior Vice President of Beverage Packaging. He continued, "The packaging solutions we bring to the market offer tangible benefits to both manufacturers and consumers. Our global network of Innovation Centers allows us to share information quickly and effectively, identifying consumer needs and developing cost-effective and efficient packaging solutions. The success of this strategy is evidenced by the innovations we will demonstrate at the show."

Also, running at the exhibit will be Graphic Packaging's Marksman® X5, their newest addition to the well proven range of high speed wrap machines for different primary containers. The latest member of this very successful machine family incorporates a number of refinements, including a new low-level feeder for easy operator access. The machine will be shown running wrap packages for glass bottles in both single and double line configurations. As part of Graphic Packaging's commitment to sustainability, they will highlight at the exhibit the development of their 2-piece technology. This technology creates efficient and cost effective packaging solutions that combine materials of different weights and physical properties to produce finished packs that are not only lighter, but stronger than traditional one-piece constructions. Package styles include fully enclosed cartons and basket carriers that combine both virgin and recycled board.
