New THine Solution Enables V-by-One HS Interface to Link Synopsys’ HAPS FPGA-Based Prototyping System

THine Electronics, Inc., the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI, today announced the availability of prototyping solution which enables THine’s V-by-One® HS interface to link Synopsys’ HAPS FPGA-based prototyping system. Jointly developed with Gigafirm, one of Gold Members of Synopsys’ third party vender program, the solution now provides connecting adapters between evaluation boards of V-by-One® HS products and high-performance HAPS system.

As a global leader providing software, IP and services used to accelerate innovation in chips and electronic systems, Synopsys has been delivering FPGA-based prototyping systems to hardware and software engineers for over 10 years and six hardware platform generations.

Synopsys’ HAPS (High-performance ASIC Prototyping Systems) family of products provides an integrated and scalable hardware-software solution leveraged by design and verification teams to improve their ASIC design schedules and avoid costly device re-spins. The new V-by-One® HS adopter empowers HAPS system by making prototype bring-up easier, enabling reduction of turn-around-time during development of high-definition systems such as 4K2K TVs with V-by-One® HS technology.

HAPS Overview

The Synopsys FPGA-based prototyping solution consists of a suite of modular, easy-to-use products for ASIC and SoC prototyping that include HAPS hardware components supported by an integrated software tool flow for design planning, FPGA synthesis, and debug.

HAPS-Developer eXpress (HAPS-DX) Series

Uses Xilinx Virtex®-7 FPGAs for capacity up to 4 million ASIC gates. The HAPS-DX Series combines hardware and software automation to make system bring-up as quick and easy as possible with a flexible I/O interface architecture to support Synopsys HapsTrak 3 and industry standard FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) formats.

HAPS-70 Series

Uses Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGAs for capacity up to 144 million ASIC gates. The HAPS-70 Series has the most automation, advanced design planning and SoC validation options commercially available.
