Demonstrating Fuel Savings in Hydraulic Fluid with "Simulator" by the Oil Additives Team at Evoniks

Evonik’s Oil Additives team will feature a simulated demonstration of the fuel savings power in its DYNAVIS®-formulated hydraulic fluid at the 69th STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition at the Disney Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from May 18- 22.

Evonik’s Oil Additives team will feature an exciting, specially-designed “Simulator” at its exhibition stand #405 on May 19-21, allowing visitors to feel the power of hydraulic fluid formulated with Evonik’s DYNAVIS® Technology. The Simulator consists of two floor-mounted bicycles, each equipped with a pedal-operated pump to enable each bicyclist to push a column of oil to the top of a clear acrylic cylinder. One column is filled with DYNAVIS®-formulated hydraulic fluid and the other is filled with an ISO-46 monograde fluid. The two bicyclists compete to push their column of fluid to the top first. The DYNAVIS®-formulated hydraulic fluid easily pumps to the top, while the monograde fluid requires much more pedalling. With the simulation, each bicyclist physically experiences the advantages and disadvantages of each respective hydraulic fluid when hydraulic excavation equipment is pushed to its maximum capabilities.

Visitors to Evonik’s Oil Additives display will also be invited to test their driving skills on the “Let it flow” Speedway, a real-world racing game, and learn how to boost efficiency with Evonik’s technologies and products. Winners of the racing game are entered in a daily drawing to win a Fitbit, the wristband monitor that enables tracking of fitness day and night.

As a Titanium Plus sponsor of the STLE Annual Meeting, Evonik’s Oil Additives team will host the STLE Exhibitor Appreciation Hour Raffle on Monday, May 19 at 3:30 p.m. During this time, STLE attendees can visit the exhibition area and Evonik at Stand #405 to enter for a chance to win one of three Nike+ FuelBands, fitness tracking technology at its best.

The Oil Additives team at Evonik has taken a leadership role in developing lubricant additive technology designed to improve fuel efficiency and productivity. Energy-saving results have been demonstrated with VISCOPLEX® Viscosity Index Improvers (VIIs) in engine oils, driveline fluids and gear oils.
