Advion, Inc., a leading systems and consumables developer for the life sciences industry, announces that at the close of its 2015 fiscal year and after only 33 months on the market, the expression compact mass spectrometer (CMS) is integrated within many of the Top 10 organic and biochemistry programs (as ranked by US News and World Reports) of the United States at Berkeley, Harvard, MIT, Scripps, Princeton, Michigan and Yale as well as the Top 2 programs in the UK at Cambridge and Oxford (as ranked in The 2015 Complete University Guide).
Advion's expression CMS was developed with academic chemistry program input, and with its over 20 years of mass spectrometry and chemistry expertise; the system was introduced less than three years ago during the American Chemical Society's Spring National Meeting in San Diego. Further to this accomplishment is that 15 of the top 20 USA programs use the CMS, as well as hundreds of other small academic sites for research and teaching.
"The development focus for Advion from day one has been to create a benchtop mass spectrometer that is easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain, and affordable allowing for chemistry researchers to gain industry-relevant, hands-on experience," comments David Patteson, Advion's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are proud to deliver our promise and bring mass spectrometry to the masses."
This announcement closely follows the recent release of Advion's Education Bundle that includes the expression CMS, training, computer, ion source and curriculum complete with slides and video lectures for any chemistry program to easily place into their existing syllabus.
Advion's success and standing in the academic sector is highlighted in a recent report on the single quadrupole MS market by Strategic Directions International (SDi). The report uses a Net Promoter Score (NPS) to rate all the SQ MS suppliers – essentially a measure of the level of satisfaction of a company's customers and how likely they would be to recommend the company to a friend or colleague. Overall, Advion's NPS was by far the highest of any company and 50% higher than the closest rival. In the academic sector it was a peerless 100% compared to the nearest single quadrupole mass spec vendor at 27%. "It's all about excellent customer support, ease-of-use, product reliability and value." Mr. Patteson shared.
