Erichsen 343 Gauges Awarded Best Aircraft/Airport Scales 2016

When it comes to testing and measuring in the aerospace and aviation industries, meeting the toughest requirements is essential.

Whether it is for load balancing, aircraft weighing or weight distribution that needs to be measured, the Erichsen 343 hydraulic force gauge is the right fit to monitor and verify forces at a low cost.

With simplicity in mind and unique features engineered for the aerospace and aviation industry, the Erichsen Model 343 hydraulic gauge recently won the 2016 “WeighingReview Readers’ Choice Award”  for Best Aircraft/Airport Scales.

This is the second year in a row that products from AMETEK STC are awarded by the readers of WeighingReview.com.

We are very proud of this award. The Erichsen 343 gauges has been around for a long time and has long proved its worth in the aerospace and aviation industry including a multitude of tension and compression applications.

Joel Schoubert - Product Manager

The Erichsen 343 hydraulic gauges are made of stainless steel and are hermetically sealed into a closed circuit filled with hydraulic oil. They are easy to operate and do not require any power source.

The large dial allows the user to view loads from a distance. If the gauge needs to be viewed from a remote location an optional extended tube for the dial can be added. The Erichsen 343 hydraulic gauges come with a center thru-hole boring enabling them to be used wherever there is a need to fit a centering adapter to secure the load being applied. This centering hole design allows accurate load applications in both compression and tension applications.

Unlike their electronic counterparts, load cells with digital indicators, the Erichsen 343 hydraulic gauges are immune to ESD (Electro Static Discharge) and transient voltages.

The rugged design allows the Erichsen 343 hydraulic gauges to operate in harsh environments where traditional gauges give up. The Erichsen 343 models cover a load range from 1 kN (220 lbs) to 2500 kN (560.000 lbs) at an accuracy of 1.6% of full scale. An optional digital indicator is available.

The Erichsen 343 hydraulic gauges may also be used in additional applications such as; hydraulic press clamp force verification, continuous measurement of axial forces, to monitor bearing forces that arise on lathes, boring machines, extrusion presses and similar.

Besides having the Erichsen 343 being awarded Best Aircraft/Airport Scales 2016, the 1300 Autopsy Scales, also from AMETEK STC, was awarded Best Medical Scales 2016.
