Teijin to Exhibit Carbon and Aramid Fiber Solutions at China Composites Expo in Shanghai

The Teijin Group announced today that Toho Tenax Co., Ltd., the group's carbon fibers and composites business, and Shanghai-based Teijin Aramid Asia Co., Ltd., the group's aramid fibers business, will join China Composites Expo 2016, Asia's largest composites exhibition, in Shanghai from August 31 to September 2. Some 470 exhibitors will take part in the annual show.

The Teijin booth (stand A808) will showcase innovative applications for carbon- and aramid-fiber-reinforced composites developed by the Teijin Group, a world leader in high-performance fibers.

Toho Tenax specifically will showcase how Tenax® carbon fiber materials offer superior strength and lightweight properties for users in the Chinese market. It will exhibit carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) products, highlighting widening industrial applications especially for electronic components and digital communications devices such as cameras and tablets.

Teijin Aramid Asia will present two filament yarns, Twaron® Black and Technora® Black, both deep-black versions of high-modulus para-aramid fibers that were originally available only in yellow. The fibers including the original yellow versions are highly suited to applications requiring stiffness, strength, lightness and beauty, such as boat hulls and sails, motorcycle helmets, and other sporting goods. Other aramid composite applications on display will include pressure vessels, circuit breaker rods and various uses in civil engineering.

Value-added high-performance composite materials are one of the four business pillars in the Transformation and Growth Strategies of Teijin’s current medium-term business plan. The company has put a high priority on leveraging its high-performance materials in advanced solutions to meet diverse demands in the global market.
